Having read the sister title to this book, which looks at the Egyptians, I was even more thrilled because that is a glorious read – packed full of fascinating facts and gorgeously illustrated, with the added bonus of a lift-the-flaps format which surely no child (or adult) can resist – and I knew I was in for a treat. After reorganising how we deliver the history curriculum as a school, I have been left with one area I really dislike to teach, one to which I am ambivalent and one that I am very excited about – the Ancient Greeks – so when I was offered the chance to read and review this title I was thrilled to do so.
